AI Assistant
A chat assistant that can make real, undoable edits to your track.
The AI Assistant is a chat panel that can change your track. Ask it for a bassline, or for a change to what you already have, and it edits the track directly — the results arrive as ordinary undoable edits, not as text you have to act on yourself.
Open it from the ✨ launcher. You need to be signed in.
Modes
The panel offers two ways in:
- Review — hands off to the Track Review co-pilot, which critiques what you have.
- Generate a bassline — a focused generation task for the most commonly wanted part.
Alongside these, the composer at the bottom of the panel takes free-form requests.
How edits are applied
When the assistant decides to change something, it does not edit your track directly. It returns a structured plan, which Jam Club translates into the same edit actions the app uses when you click something.
This has a practical consequence worth knowing: everything the assistant does is undoable, appears in your history like any other change, and syncs to collaborators normally. Nothing it produces can put your track into a state the app itself could not have produced.
What it will not tell you
The assistant deliberately does not make claims about how things sound. It works with structure — notes, patterns, parameters — and defers sonic judgement to Review, which analyses the actual content of your track rather than guessing.
Tip: This split is worth using deliberately. Ask the Assistant to make something; ask Review whether what you have works.
Requirements
The assistant needs a server-side Anthropic API key to be configured for the deployment you are using. Without it the endpoint returns an error and the panel degrades rather than breaking. The key is never sent to the browser.
You must be signed in — the feature is unavailable to anonymous visitors, and requests are rate-limited per user.
